Greg Long had been involved in the gospel music industry practically since birth, so he couldn't have been too surprised to be offered a contract with Myrrh Records. Born in South Dakota, Long was on the road with his family's musical ministry act throughout his childhood and made his first recording while other kids his age were attending kindergarten. He signed a contract with Myrrh in 1993, and released his debut album Cross My Heart one year later. Highlighted by the single "Faith Can Light a Candle," the album did well in gospel circles. Long backed up his history as a performer first by giving hundreds of concerts each year, supporting Point of Grace, 4Him and Ray Boltz; he also appeared on television shows like The 700 Club and Hour of Power. He has numerous #1 radio singles and two Dove Award nominations as a solo artist.
In May 2000, Greg married founding Avalon vocalist Janna Potter, and in 2003 he joined the group with whom he has toured ever since. The couple lives in
