Dove

The group started as a duo: Bill Landers and Dave Smith, in 1969 - then Bill, Dave, and Mary Mauldin in 1970. In 1973, they release Dove on Myrrh Records, with Sonny Lallerstedt and Randy Bugg, who left the group in ’74 to start Pat Terry Group. They had a ministry with Richard Hogue/SPIRENO which was predominantly school assembly programs, crusade services, and concerts thru spring '75. According to Dave Smith, "We started doing our stuff well before the Jesus movement ever existed. We started traveling in ’69, and the Jesus movement took place in ’71-’72. So we were in the middle of the JM, but we had already been doing things well before it hit.”
