JJ Heller to release lullaby project

Phoenix, AZ – Indie music and radio favorite JJ Heller’s professional and personal life has matured right alongside her fanbase.  While developing her craft as a songwriter and seasoned musician, she has been immersed and transparent in the joys and challenges of being a young mother and wife.  Now, just in time for Mother’s Day, JJ is releasing I DREAM OF YOU, a collection of songs, written and recorded specifically as lullabies for children and their parents.  I DREAM OF YOU will be available in stores and online on April 29, 2014.

Each of Heller’s previous albums has contained songs written for her children, even before they were born.  These songs struck a chord with JJ’s fans, and many requested she complete a collection of lullabies for their growing families. In response, JJ spent the second half of 2013 writing and recording for the new record.

Made up of six new songs, five new versions of pre-existing favorites and one cover song, I DREAM OF YOU is more piano-based than JJ’s earlier albums to keep with the quiet simplicity of the intimacy between a mother and child.

“So many fans have told me they listen to my music when they’re trying to find peace and rest,” JJ says. “This project was created to not just calm the hearts of children, but the child inside every adult as well.”
While recording I DREAM OF YOU, another dream was born. JJ and her husband, David, set out to pen a companion children’s bedtime story.  Funded through an incredibly successful Kickstarter campaign, the book, THE GOLDEN FEATHER, was inspired by their two young daughters, and is filled with glimpses of their interests and ideas.  With stunning illustrations by Luke Flowers, THE GOLDEN FEATHER is a story about dreams, friendship and love… and has adorable bunnies hidden in the environment of each illustration for young readers to discover.

“After reading bedtime stories to our girls for the past five years, we decided to combine all our favorite elements of the books we love to read,” Heller says. “Bedtime with my girls is such a special part life, and I hope that both the CD and book help my fans create happy memories during the final minutes of the day.”
