An open letter from the Parachute Band

Hey family and friends,

I hope you're having a well-deserved break and enjoying some time with your loved ones this Christmas season.

Earlier this year we announced that we would be taking a break from the road in 2013 - it's been an intense seven years of travel and ministry for all of us.

Not living out of a suitcase has allowed us to reconnect with our families and friends in a whole new way. We've all really enjoyed venturing into new creative projects and having our feet planted in one city for a little while. October saw us all come together to celebrate our frontman Omega's wedding, and wish him well on a new journey with his wife Sarah.

Sometimes, new journeys must start with an end. We want to let you know today that Omega has decided to finish his season with the Parachute Band. While this is sure to be bittersweet news for a lot of you, we know this decision means he will have more time to enjoy marriage and to invest more into his local church community.

We're fully supportive of Omega's decision, and more importantly, fully supportive of him. We want to thank him for seven years of faithful service through a demanding schedule. He has shared his powerful testimony around the world and will continue to do so - we're so grateful for this chapter. I'm sure you'll join us in wishing Omega the best for the future.

I also want to take this time to say a massive THANK YOU to all of you who have supported us, prayed for us and cheered us on over the past seven years. We couldn't have even begun to do what we have without the love and support of our family worldwide.

Parachute Band is, and always has been, a community of people passionate about taking worship music from NZ to the world, and seeing people encounter God in a fresh way.

This is by no means the end. We'll be sure to keep you all posted on future plans for the band.

Thanks again and have a very merry Christmas.

Much love,
Sam de Jong Parachute Band
