Winans Phase 2
Winans Phase 2 heralded the emergence of a new generation of one of contemporary gospel’s most prominent families. Formed in 1988, Marvin Jr, Michael Jr, Carvin Jr, and Juan Winans were teenage sons of the original Winans brothers, as well as nephews of duo BeBe and CeCe Winans. Winans Phase 2 originally formed to appear in a series of television spots for the local NBC affiliate in their native Detroit. Soon after they gained a clothing endorsement with Zero Casualties and were quickly signed to Myrrh Records where they released their only album, We Got Next, in 1999.
