Kelly Nelon Thompson Clark is the daughter of legendary bass singer Rex Nelon. She is best known as the long-time lead alto singer for the Rex Nelon Singers (aka The Nelons). She has won numerous awards and is also an accomplished songwriter. In the early 1980s, Kelly married Jerry Thompson, also part of the Nelsons.
In addition to her work with the Nelons, Kelly had a solo career and released several albums.
Kelly remarried Jerry Clark in the mid-1990s and continues as the lead of the Nelons, singing alongside her husband and daughter, Amber Nelon Thompson.
Clark, along with her husband, daughter, and son-in-law, were killed in a plane crash on their way to an event in July 2024.
