Gospel singer, writer, teacher, editor, and publisher, Eugene Bartlett taught sing­ing schools through­out the south­ern Unit­ed States, found­ed the Hart­ford Mu­sic Com­pa­ny in Hart­ford, Ar­kan­sas, and was ed­it­or of the mu­sic mag­a­zine Her­ald of Song. He was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1979.
