Eddie DeGarmo is an American Contemporary Christian music recording artist, keyboardist, producer, and singer. As part of rock duo DeGarmo & Key, Eddie DeGarmo became one of the leading pioneers of contemporary Christian music. After a 17-year career with D&K, encompassing more than 2 million records sold, 9 Grammy and 27 Dove award nominations, Eddie went on to co-found ForeFront Records and release 2 Grammy-nominated solo albums. Serving as Executive Vice President of A&R at ForeFront, he developed gold and platinum-selling, Grammy-winning artists such as dc Talk, Audio Adrenaline, Stacie Orrico and Rebecca St. James.

After selling the label to EMI, Eddie founded Meaux Music Publishing, and created such groundbreaking projects as “Hero – The Rock Opera.” In 2002, he joined EMI as President of EMI CMG Publishing, which has been named Christian Music Publisher of the Year numerous times by Billboard Magazine and BMI, as well as six consecutive years by ASCAP, an unprecedented achievement. Under Eddie’s leadership, EMI CMG Publishing continues to be an industry leader in Christian music publishing throughout the world.

Among other industry affiliations, Eddie is an alumnus of the prestigious “Leadership Music” program, and he is currently a member of the Gospel Music Association (GMA) Board, as well as the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) Board of Governors. He served as the President of the Church Music Publishers Association (CMPA) for 2008 – 2009, and takes an active ongoing role in giving voice to publishers and songwriters in entertainment industry legislation.

Where are they Now:

After selling his ForeFront Records to EMI, Eddie focused on music publishing. He eventually returned to EMI as President of EMI CMG Publishing. Every year since 2004, EMI CMG Publishing has been named Christian Music Publisher of the Year by both Billboard Magazine and ASCAP. In 2004 and again in 2012, EMI CMG Publishing attained that honor with Billboard, ASCAP and BMI, an unprecedented achievement. In January 2013, EMI CMG Publishing and Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing combined to form Capitol CMG Publishing, a division of Capitol Christian Music Group. Under DeGarmo’s leadership, Capitol CMG Publishing continues to be an industry leader in Christian music throughout the world.
