As part of rock duo DeGarmo & Key, Eddie DeGarmo became one of the leading pioneers of contemporary Christian music. After a 17-year career with D&K, encompassing more than 2 million records sold, 9 Grammy and 27 Dove award nominations, Eddie went on to co-found ForeFront Records and release 2 Grammy-nominated solo albums. Serving as Executive Vice President of A&R at ForeFront, he developed gold and platinum-selling, Grammy-winning artists such as dc Talk, Audio Adrenaline, Stacie Orrico and Rebecca St. James.
After selling the label to EMI, Eddie founded Meaux Music Publishing, and created such groundbreaking projects as “Hero – The Rock Opera.” In 2002, he joined EMI as President of EMI CMG Publishing, which has been named Christian Music Publisher of the Year numerous times by Billboard Magazine and BMI, as well as six consecutive years by ASCAP, an unprecedented achievement. Under Eddie’s leadership, EMI CMG Publishing continues to be an industry leader in Christian music publishing throughout the world.
Among other industry affiliations, Eddie is an alumnus of the prestigious “Leadership Music” program, and he is currently a member of the Gospel Music Association (GMA) Board, as well as the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) Board of Governors.
