Matt Redman receives first No. 1 single with "10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)"

Nashville, Tenn. – GRAMMY nominated and award-winning songwriter, Matt Redman, celebrates his first No. 1 single this week as "10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)" topped the charts. The single reached No. 1 on the Christian AC Monitored chart and holds firm at No. 1 for the second consecutive week on the Christian AC Indicator chart. It has also held the No. 1 spot on the Christian Gospel Current Digial Tracks chart for six consecutive weeks and a total of eight weeks. The music video, shot in the Berlin church where Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a youth leader, premiered this week exclusively with K-LOVE.

“This song was born eighteen months ago in a tiny little chapel in the UK,” said Redman. “Last week I heard from worship leaders as far away as Kenya and Mongolia singing it. And then today hearing that it is number one at Christian radio in the US is massively encouraging. A heartfelt thanks to all those involved with that happening! I love seeing a song travel so widely and transcending different cultures, ages and backgrounds. It reminds me that as worshippers of Jesus Christ we’re essentially all one huge global choir, unified in our worship of Him.”

“10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)", the title track off his latest release, was written by Redman and good friend and songwriter, Jonas Myrin. The album topped the charts taking the No. 1 spot on the Christian Soundscan Chart for the first time in his career, selling nearly 7,000 units its first week. 10,000 Reasons also peaked at No. 1 on the best-selling albums list on the iTunes Christian Albums Chart and claimed No. 28 on the Digital Album Chart and No. 66 on Billboard’s Top 200.
