Singer/Songwriter Julie Elias releases video for 'Breathing Room'

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Singer/songwriter Julie Elias has released the video for "Breathing Room," the first video from her current CD, A Wild Rose. Award-winning producer/director Stephen Yake of Yake Films directed the video, which centers on the need for forgiveness as we strive to have a closer relationship with Christ.

"Of all the songs on my album, 'Breathing Room' is probably the song I connect to most and the issue with which I personally struggle the most: being able to truly forgive, let go and move on," Elias says. "When it came time to produce the video, it was very important to me to have a powerful story with this song."

The story line of the video centers on a woman who struggles with the emotional scars left by an abusive childhood. When the woman has the opportunity to confront her abusive father, she chooses to forgive him, which frees her from the figurative prison in which she has lived, and allows healing to begin with her father.

"There are a lot people who need freedom from their past, regardless of age, gender, background, social status...it is a universal struggle," says Elias. "My prayer is that this video encourages others to forgive and move on from whatever is holding them back from getting closer to God."

A Wild Rose, Elias' debut full-length CD of original music, follows the 2011 release of her Christmas-themed CD, Holy Night.
