Chris Tomlin garners Dove Award for "Praise & Worship "Album of the Year"

Nashville, Tenn.  – GRAMMY® winner and multi-platinum recording artist Chris Tomlin garnered two wins at last night's 44th Annual GMA Dove Awards, including the honor of best “Praise & Worship Album of the Year” for the Billboard 200 No. 1 album Burning Lights. The acclaimed worship leader also received a Dove Award for the collective effort of Passion: Let The Future Begin in the “Special Event Album of the Year” category. This marks Tomlin’s 20th and 21st Dove Award wins. Additionally, Tomlin recently received an American Music Award nomination in the Favorite Artist - Contemporary/Inspirational category.

On October 29, Tomlin will unveil his Burning Lights Deluxe Tour Edition CD & DVD. The two-disc combo will include the Burning Lights CD as well as a DVD of Tomlin's performance before an enthusiastic crowd at Denver’s famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre. This week, Billboard.com debuted the first live music video, "Our God," from the upcoming DVD. CNN.com is set to premiere the energetic live music video for “God’s Great Dance Floor” later this month.

Burning Lights made history earlier this year as only the fourth Christian music album to debut at the No. 1 spot atop the Billboard 200. The album’s success crossed over to the "Burning Lights Tour," which has been the most successful tour of Tomlin’s 13 year career, showing a 53% increase in average show attendance and selling out 25 shows in major U.S. markets including New York, Los Angeles, Houston and Chicago. Tomlin recently announced the continuation of the "Burning Lights Tour," which is currently making the trek to 22 additional cities across the country. The tour once again features friend and pastor of Passion City Church/Communicator/Passion founder, Louie Giglio.

The 44th Annual GMA Dove Awards was held last night at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The entire event will be televised exclusively on UP! Television Network on Monday, October 21 at 8:00 PM ET.
