Andrew Peterson to launch 14th annual 'Behold the Lamb of God' Christmas tour

Nashville, TN -  The Christmas season heralds one of the most popular holiday tours, Andrew Peterson’s Behold the Lamb of God concert. The 17-city tour launches December 3 and runs through December 21, including tour stops in Richmond, VA; Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Charlotte, NC and Montgomery, AL. Once again this year there will be two nights for the concert at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. Joining the tour for the first time is singer/songwriter Ellie Holcomb who has had two #1 EPs on the Christian iTunes chart and tours with her husband’s band, Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors. Other guest artists on the tour include Jill Phillips, Andy Gullahorn, Ben Shive and Andrew Osenga. A complete listing of dates is available at the end of the press release and online at www.andrew-peterson.com.

"I just did the math and realized this is the fourteenth year of this tour—and our tenth year at the Ryman Auditorium!,” says Peterson.  “That makes me feel old. But it also makes me doubly grateful to have been a part of it for so long. There’s no other story I’d rather tell. Adding Ellie Holcomb to the roster this year is great for several reasons—one of which is that her new record is breathtaking. Another is that it will finally give Jill Phillips another female to commiserate with.”

Peterson launched the Christmas tour in 1999 to present a musical rendition of the Christmas story and to reinforce the true meaning of the season.  It was immediately embraced by fans nationwide because of the powerful performances, entertaining stories, and the sense of community between Peterson and his guest artists. The result was multiple sold-out venues and yearly return engagements. In 2004, fan support led Peterson to record the album, Behold The Lamb Of God: The True Tall Tale Of The Coming Of Christ, and the project won the 2004 Best Album of the Year, World Christian Music Editor’s Award and was named by Rhapsody.com as one of the ten best Christian albums of the decade. In 2009, Peterson released a 2-disc 10th Anniversary Edition of the project that includes a remastered version of the original CD and a live recording of the Christmas concert from 2008.

Peterson and the Rabbit Room are set to host the 4th Annual Hutchmoot 2013, October 10-13 in Nashville, TN. Another highly popular event for Peterson, as tickets sell very quickly every year and this year was no exception with a sell-out in three minutes! The attendees will enjoy a weekend of live music, great food and conversation, and a series of discussions centered on art, faith, and the telling of great stories across a range of mediums. The Friday night concert will feature Ron Block and friends for an evening of music from his new album, Walking Song. The special guest for the event is author Leif Enger, who wrote the American classics “Peace Like a River,” and “So Brave, Young, and Handsome.”

Peterson is gearing up for a busy 2014, with the spring release of the forth and final book in the Wingfeather Saga series, The Warden and the Wolf King. Peterson was honored in 2010 when book two in the series won the Christy Award for Young Adult Fiction. At the same time, Peterson will be busy recording his fourth studio album for Centricity Music. The project will once again feature original compositions from Peterson and is scheduled to release in fall 2014.
