Bob Smiley
Bob Smiley is an American Christian comedian and author who lives near Houston, Texas. He has been a stand-up comedian for more than 10 years all over the United States, Canada, England, Wales and East Kentucky. He performed in front of 60,000 people while opening up for Switchfoot. He also was the opening act for Audio Adrenaline's last show in Hawaii. He has performed at the Spirit West Coast and Festival Con Dios music festivals. He has opened for such groups as Newsboys (whose former lead singer Peter Furler is good friends with Smiley), MercyMe, Third Day, Switchfoot, TobyMac and Audio Adrenaline. He has been a guest on the comedy show Bananas. In 2002, Inpop records released his first comedy CD I've Got A Funny Feeling About This.
He recently wrote a book entitled Growing up Super Average: The Adventures of Average Boy. The book is a comedy/devotional book for Middle School kids using humor to help them learn to deal with the top 25 problems kids that age face. He has also written articles for Clubhouse magazine.
Bob graduated from Abilene Christian University in West Texas. (Motto: Have you seen our Tree?). He majored in Elementary Education, thinking the classes would be easy. "After all", he says, "I already knew most of the alphabet". He has been married for 10 years and has three boys.
