The Cruse Family was a well-known evangelistic musical group formed in Jacksonville, TX in 1972 by father, teacher, and pastor Joe Cruse, Jr. He was joined by his wife Nancy, and children son Joe III and wife Becky, Karen, Janie, John and Cindy. New members were added as children married.
Karen's husband Jeff Adams becamse the sound enginer. Janie's husband, Clark Stone, became the drummer. John's wife Janice (Archer) joined in 1982. The group, popular throughout much of the 1970s and early 1980s, traveled and ministered all across the world. They released 25 albums and received two Dove Awards.
The group later became the trio Cruse and Cindy began recording as a solo act in 1984.
Cindy Cruse lives in Houston, Texas and is married to Marcus Ratcliff. She is working as senior worship leader at Lakewood Church (pastored by Joel Osteen) The two have a son named Windsor. On July 17, 2008, the couple adopted twins after trying to have children.
