The Channel Surfers

Genre:

The Channel Surfers were founded in 1997 and immediately drew comparisons to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Beastie Boys. The band had a stated purpose of creating current relevant music without watering down the Christian message. The band debuted at the Cornerstone music festival and was signed to the short lived Pamplin Records. The band would release a second album in '99 on Organic Records, with a sound more funk rock driven than their initial pop rock effort. A tour with Reality Check in 1998 helped expose the band to the public, but more label troubles caused the band to retire.
