Sherri Youngward
Sherri Youngward is a Christian praise and worship artist from San Francisco, California. She was not raised in a religious family and had no connection to the faith until she was eighteen and came under the influence of a Christian family. Sherri says that her attendance at a Keith Green concert made a strong impact on her, instilling a lifelong confidence in the ability of music to "communicate the heart of Jesus to people." She subsequently became involved with the music ministries of Youth With A Mission.
Her music style has been compared to Carolyn Arends and Sara McLachlan. HM magazine cites her songs as being "as scriptual as they are emotionally resplendent, as deeply worshipful as they are genuinely artistic." Sherri's first albums, produced by Aaron Sprinkle, were released on 5 Minute Walk and BEC records. Following her major label debut, she has continued releasing albums independently.
Her song "Where This Love Goes" from Six Inches of Sky appeared in the episode "Tempest" of Smallville and "It's Too Late and It's Too Bad of "Roswell".
